Elden Ring is set in the Lands Between, an imaginative realm governed by multiple demigods. Previously, the immortal Queen Marika held dominion over this realm as the guardian of the Elden Ring, a potent entity representing the embodiment of order.
However, Marika shattered the Elden Ring and vanished, triggering an event known as The Shattering, during which her demigod offspring vied for control over fragments of the Ring.
These fragments, called Great Runes, imbue their possessors with corruptive power. In the game, the player assumes the role of a Tarnished, one among a group of exiles from the Lands Between who is summoned back following the aftermath of The Shattering.
In this journey, a tarnished takes on the challenge to become Elden Lord. What does the Erdtree have for the young hero?
