Elden Ring unfolds within the Lands Between, an imaginative realm governed by numerous demigods. Previously under the rule of the immortal Queen Marika, she served as the guardian of the Elden Ring, a potent force representing the embodiment of order.
However, when Marika shattered the Elden Ring and vanished, her demigod offspring commenced a fierce struggle over its fragments known as The Shattering. Each demigod possesses a shard of the Ring, referred to as a Great Rune, which bestows them with corrupting power.
In this game, players assume the role of a Tarnished, one among a group of exiles from the Lands Between, summoned back following the cataclysmic event. Tasked with traversing the realm, the player embarks on a quest to mend the Elden Ring and ascend as the revered Elden Lord and to restore the Golden Order.
